Habitat's SS23 Design Heroes
10 February 2023
February 2023: Habitat’s spring summer collections prioritise versatile, design-worthy pieces that can be easily incorporated into existing home styling and interiors. The in-house team of 28 designers and product developers have prioritised long-lasting and enduring designs, with a focus on making small refreshes to our living spaces.
Classic designs and reintroductions from the extensive Habitat archive are married with unexpected colour combinations to bring a sense of optimism and escapism to interiors this season.
Betal Rattan Sofa, £800

Noticing a resurgence in 70s styles across fashion and interiors, the design team reintroduced this classic chaise from the Habitat archives for the new season. Made from handwoven rattan, its plump, curvilinear silhouette evokes a feeling of nostalgia to promote comfort and well-being in the home.
Lilac Bubble Vase, £16

Taking inspiration from the bubble decor trend dominating social media feeds, this bulbous vase features an inflated silhouette and vibrant palette which brings a touch of fun and playfulness into the home.
Studio Side Table, £65
The team have introduced new colourways to the iconic Studio side table, with sage green and soft grey joining the best-selling electric blue hue. Referencing architectural forms with its fluted base and rounded top, it's a highly functional piece that can be used as either a stool or side table.
Teka Sling Deck Chair, £45
The Teka chair is a contemporary statement piece with a sleekly designed, low-slung seat and black metal frame that can be used both inside and outdoors, creating a conversational focal point for a monochrome, minimalist space.
Abstract Teapot, £5.25

The artisanal style of this teapot gives a nod to Japanese tea ceremonies, featuring a short spout for easy pouring, heatproof handle and 1-litre capacity. Its functional design is livened up by a high-impact print which was inspired by brutalist architecture.
Morillo Sideboard, £290
The desire to collect and exhibit continues, and the Morillo sideboard is a modern, industrial piece that plays into this trend. With its ribbed glass front, the cabinet gives a greater feeling of space in interiors and allows for both displaying and disguising accessories.
Conical Ceramic Table Lamp, £40
Lighting designer Tom O’Sullivan set out to create a classic design that would stand the test of time when creating this mushroom-shaped lamp. The subtle olive base and cream linen shade add to the timeless quality of this piece.
Geo Technique Cushion, £16

The textural forms on the geo cushion are formed from a punch needle technique which gives a layered and tactile appearance. The abstract geometric shapes are inspired by a 70s palette of rust, mustard and brown, updated with on-trend lilac.
Block Print Pasta Bowl, £4.25

The tableware team played with different techniques before they landed on woodblock printing for this dinner set. Resulting in a unique raised texture, the serveware adds depth and dimension to table settings.
Xylo Coffee Table, £160

The Xylo coffee table has been stripped back to the essentials, defined by a minimal design and smooth pebble-shaped curves which bring a relaxed, nostalgic feel to interiors.
Jericho Dining Table, £395

The design team chose mango wood for this dining table due to its durable, long-lasting qualities. The pared-back design allows the rich, textured grain of the wood to be showcased, whilst open wooden slats at the base provide subtle decoration.
