AW24 Interior Trends from Habitat
24 September 2024
Habitat's design and product development team have identified key interior trends for the season ahead, heroing in-house designed prints, vibrant hues and conversational furniture pieces. Bold colour palettes bring a feeling of warmth to interiors as the nights draw in, while an edit of gold-toned accessories is perfect for a season of hosting and at-home entertaining. A range of on-trend accessories allow for small-scale, affordable updates to homes ahead of the change of season.
"Earth tones ranging from a bolder orange hue to deeper shades of amber and rust promote a warm, harmonious feel when used across interior spaces. With nods to mid-century design, these terracotta shades hold a nostalgic appeal and we've added tactility and depth using a variety of textures, from high shine finishes and dappled glassware to soft organic cottons and plush velvet accents."

"The Gold Edit was a chance for our design studio to go one step further with our anniversary celebrations and develop a selection of statement pieces that are unapologetically luxurious. Gold is opulent and timeless, it provides a mellowing halo that enriches a space and exudes a feeling of grandeur. The candelabra is from our Archive and brings a great statement piece back this winter for stunning tablescaping."

"The accent table is a highly underrated piece of furniture. They add depth to a space, enhance larger pieces and in practical terms, offer a multitude of functions, from a place to rest a drink, your feet or a laptop. They're also easy to move around the home for quick interior updates. Because of this, we have continued to expand our imaginative table offering with a wide range of affordable designs, from whimsical to the adaptable."
Georgina Dawson, Habitat Head of Buying, Furniture
"Moody blue tones allow for a more subtle introduction of colour into interiors, making them suitable for all tastes, from those who embrace maximalism to those with a more pared-back aesthetic. The colour palette can be easily introduced into the home through sumptuous textiles, lighting or larger furniture items. We’ve built out our range of kitchen essentials and tableware in a warm inky hue, perfect for winter tablescaping and cosy intimate dinners.”
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design
"For a more contemporary take on maximalism, pair bold primary shades with graphic prints and patterns for a look that’s full of energy and eclecticism. We’ve seen stripes and wavy motifs all over social media feeds this year, and we’ve extended these iconic prints across textiles, bedding and home accessories to bring the trend to every corner of the home. The playful nature of the prints brings a feeling of movement to interiors that can break up overlooked spaces and uplift our mood."

"A change in fragrance is a great way to signal the arrival of a new season and get the home ready for the cosy months ahead. From fresh notes of frosted cedar to pomegranate and amber, our offering spans diffusers, candles and room sprays designed for a seasonal switch-up. Mulled clementine is our hero scent this season, infused with vanilla pods, warm mulled spices and a hint of smoky woods to create a unique scent to fill the home over the festive period."
