As we move into 2024, the Habitat design and product development team share their trend predictions for the year ahead. Taking influence from the runway, favourite TV shows and social media, each trend suggests how we will decorate our homes this year, from recreating the luxury hotel experience at home to embracing traditional craft and natural materials.
Habitat's latest collections offer an affordable way to incorporate the trends in the home, with lighting, furniture and accessories that were designed to encourage inspirational interiors.
Hotel Chic
"As the opulent trend continues to grow, people are increasingly looking to carve out grand and sophisticated living spaces in the home where they can relax and indulge. By incorporating luxe elements such as velvet textiles, jewel-like colours and high-shine gold finishes, we can bring the opulence of luxury hotels and members clubs right into the home without having to leave!"
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design

Curated Craft
"We continue to be incredibly proud to work with and be inspired by the specialist teams of craftspeople and manufacturers who collaborate with our talented in-house designers to develop unique and design-led pieces each season and help us to enrich our products with great stories. Many of our bedding and textile products incorporate natural dyeing techniques for earthy tones and softer palettes. We make product using traditional processes such as hand turned and carved woods across our furniture, hand slip cast ceramics, fired in Portugal, and many of our new lighting designs are created from hand blown glassware."

Mono-rooms
"Surpassing 600K posts on Instagram, the #monochromehome trend showcases that customers are embracing monochromatic designs. Without fear of clashing colours, a neutral palette allows for experimentation with different patterns, finishes and scales. Play with textures for depth, combining plush fabrics and matte finishes. Introduce a touch of contrast with an accent piece in the opposite shade. The key is finding harmony within the tonal palette that creates a comfortable feel."

New Romanticism
"Bows and ribbons were all over social media in 2023, which has sparked the revival of romanticism. This Gen Z-approved style fully embraces a kitschy and whimsical approach to decorating - think scalloped edges, gingham and floral motifs."
Heather Goode, Habitat Senior Designer
Denim-inspired Décor
"Denim-inspired décor is set to be a big trend for 2024. Moving over from the fashion world, the blue look channels a laid-back and lived-in feel in interiors when incorporated through small details such as rugs, throws and cushions."
