This Season's Trending Lighting Styles

During the autumn and winter months it's more important than ever to create an inviting and relaxing space at home, and lighting is a great way to create ambience and make up for lost daylight hours. From statement bobble designs to functional floor lamps, Habitat's lighting takes centre-stage this season, with more than one hundred new designs to suit individual tastes. Here to help, the design and buying team share their rundown of this season's most popular lighting styles.

"Lighting can transform a space, whether it's acting as directed light on a home desk set-up, or to create a warm welcoming feeling on a cold winter's evening by using standing lamps. We have invested in our in-house designed styles to launch some exceptional conversational pieces for AW23."
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design

Trending: Conical Designs

"This season our range of cone-shaped pendants, floor and table lamps are available in a range of soft pastel hues. Whether adorning your bedside table, living area or study, these conical designs effortlessly blend simple sophistication with a modern style."

Habitat Wood and Brass Stick Floor Lamp - Off White, £85
"One of my favourite designs in the collection is the wood and brass stick floor lamp. A classic floor lamp that uses a rich walnut stained wood offset with brass detailing for a contrasting finish. The pairing of the neutral tones of the shade with a luxurious brass base makes it a subtle statement focal point in the home."

Design Details: 70's Style

"For AW23, our team proudly presents this collection of mushroom shaped lighting. Drawing inspiration from 70s design with a contemporary twist, these luminous creations feature the iconic dome shape, casting a gentle downlight within interior spaces."
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design

Trending: Bobble Lighting

"A hero of the range and a personal favourite, the oversized Bobble ceramic table lamp leans on the bobble furniture trend that has gained popularity over the last year. The lamp is glazed in white to create a statement but not overwhelm a small room."
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design

Design Details: Sculptural Pendants

"We’re now seeing more adventurous shopping, with customers exploring more statement lighting designs beyond the classic styles. New for this season, we've taken inspiration from the past and made modern updates to help elevate any hallway, dining, or kitchen area.
