March 2023: Lilac and yellow tones are predicted to be one of the feel-good colour combinations of 2023. Trend forecaster WGSN labelled lavender as its colour of the year, and the trend has dominated fashion and interiors with its soothing pastel hue and cool undertones. Spring like yellow shades such as lemon and ochre inject a pop of vibrancy into the mix, giving a reinvigorating lift to interiors when the two colours are brought together.
The Habitat team has seen growing demand for this mood-boosting colour combo, as customers look to transform interiors with uplifting touches.
- Habitat reported that online searches for lilac have surged by +881% since February, and +10700% since last year
- The lilac bubble vase was a bestseller on Habitat.co.uk in February, providing a much-needed burst of colour to the home
- The lilac bedding set is the 3rd most visited product on Habitat.co.uk this month, as customers look to go bold with their bedding
"To get this colour pairing right in the home, opt for soft pastel shades, steering clear of dark and saturated hues which can make interior schemes feel a little garish. Subtle geometric prints work best with this palette to keep the look contemporary and on-trend so avoid overly fussy patterns such as florals."
