Habitat launches new collections for summer 2023
The Herbalist, Summer Haze and Outdoor ranges will be available online at habitat.co.uk, argos.co.uk and in selected Sainsbury's and Argos stores from May 2023.
12 April 2023

Emulating a countryside retreat, the Herbalist collection references natural materials and botanical prints to capture a feeling of rural simplicity. Tableware and accessories celebrate nature with delicate florals pressed into clay, and attention is paid to intricate details, from scalloped edges and embossed ceramics to hand-painted prints. Unified by a palette of soft pastels, the collection encourages time to relax and unwind.

“This season we’ve extended our range of best-selling cookware, introducing a new collection of pastel utensils in a soft sage hue. Casserole dishes, roasting trays and salt and pepper grinders are brought to life with a subtle ombre design which adds a hint of colour to kitchen shelving, dinner tables, and stoves.”
Kate Gibson, Habitat Head of Buying – Kitchenshop

"Artisan mark making and sketches bring a fresh take to traditional botanical prints and floral accents. Layer with oversized gingham, fringed textiles and large scalloped wickerwork to bring a sense of natural serenity and comfort to the home this spring."
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design `

The Summer Haze collection injects a warm burst of energy into interiors, characterised by a radiant colour scheme of sun-bleached tones. Looking back to the glamour of the Seventies, classic styles and curved forms are given a modern inflection by a playful palette of sunshine yellow, burnt orange and contemporary pink. A series of bold, clashing prints adorn the textiles range, referencing the experimental nature of 70s designs.

"Pink and yellow make for an impactful and mood-boosting colour combo. Evolving from the popular millennial pink trend, we've taken a nostalgic look back to our childhoods by reviving these sugar bright shades."
Anna Cross, Habitat Head of Buying – Home

“Inspired by the nostalgic motifs and patterns found in imagery by the photographer Slim Aarons, checkerboard and striped prints have gained more and more popularity over the last few years. Go all out with a statement striped bedding set, or incorporate the trend through smaller home accessories like picture frames and cushions for a more subtle approach.”
Andrew Tanner, Habitat Head of Design

“We wanted to create a classic design that would stand the test of time, and this mushroom silhouette harks back to the iconic forms of the 1970s. The brass finish gives it a more luxe appeal enabling the lamp to double up as a sculptural objet, and also helps to break up darker spaces in the home by reflecting light around the room.”
Tom Sullivan, Habitat Senior Designer

“The Indu set was designed with small-space dining in mind, boasting a minimal footprint that’s ideal for patios and balconies. Stackable chairs and removable table legs mean it can be easily stored away during the winter months.”
David Hutcheson, Habitat Senior Designer

“Small outdoor areas are a reality for many of us, but this doesn’t mean we have to compromise on style and comfort. This summer, we’ve built out our range of flexible furniture to make the most out of compact spaces, prioritising dual-purpose, slimline and stackable properties.”
Rachael Fell, Head of Buying - Furniture

“We set out to create a range of staple picnic essentials, ready for a summer of alfresco entertaining. Ribbed drinkware, botanical-inspired serveware and gold accessories in the collection are perfect for hosting. For a more casual feel, cosy rugs and cushions have been designed to bring the comfort of the living room outdoors and are ideal for breaking up and adding texture to open-air spaces.”
Leanne Fox, Head of Buying - House & Garden
