At Home with Elizabeth Day

Bestselling author, journalist and broadcaster Elizabeth Day has partnered with Habitat for the first edition of its Arranging Spaces series, opening the doors to a home that reflects her thoughtful, lived-in approach to interiors.

Known for her honest storytelling and distinctive perspective on modern life, Elizabeth's home is an extension of the values that underpin her work: authenticity, character and a deep appreciation for the stories we collect along the way. Layered with books, meaningful objects and carefully chosen furniture, it is a space that feels both personal and inviting.

"I was born in Epsom in Surrey, then moved to the North Of Ireland because of my dad's job. I also had a spell in Paris because my mother wanted to teach us French. I think that kind of eclecticism and lots of different cultures, you can see that in the way that I live."

Drawing on these influences, Elizabeth has created a home that embraces comfort, individuality and the idea that interiors should evolve naturally over time. Rather than following a particular style, she favours pieces that tell a story and reflect the life lived around them.

Working with Habitat, Elizabeth selected a collection of furniture and homeware that mirrors this approach, from sculptural coffee tables and statement seating to decorative accessories and textiles that bring warmth and personality into the home.

"My current design obsession is coffee tables, and this Habitat coffee table is such a perfect example. I love that it's flowing and curved and a bit irregular and inviting."

The result is a home that is welcoming, expressive and uniquely personal - demonstrating how thoughtful design choices can create interiors that are both beautiful and deeply individual.
